DON'T BE A LUKEWARM ON ISSUES THAT BOTHERS ON YOUR COMMUNITY DEV'T_DIR NCCE SEKYERE CENTRAL DISTRICT.


    The Director of the National Commission for Civic Education Mr Gordon Yeboah has called on Ghanaians not to show sign of indifference whenever any government decides to execute projects in their vicinity.


He opined that many are of the view that the government coffers are not  their therefore they would not spend time to monitor policies and projects of the government.

 

Such acts of  indifference bleeds corruption and pave way for shoddy works which in the nutshell retards country's  development hence the need to embark on such social auditing .

The objective for the engagement was to promote community ownership of development projects and policies, in order to increase awareness of operations of local governance and empower them to demand accountability from duty bearers.

 

The Resource Person encouraged participants to fight corruption to the teeth in order to enhance good governance for the promotion of democratic dispensation in Ghana by demanding accountability from duty bearers.

 


   Besides the above,he eulogized the government for its ability in  rekindling the NCCE by providing them the needed logistics.

 



In-spite of the above steps of the government the Sekyere Central District is highly handicapped with  regards to administration  vehicle and other related logistics therefore the government must come to their aid. 


  He stated this during a sensitization event dubbed "COMMUNITY OWNERSHIP OF DEVELOPMENT  PROJECTS AND  POLICIES "at Amoaman.


Hon Kwarteng Foster the Assembly Member for the Amoaman electoral area acknowledged the efforts of  NCCE as a prudent steps  especially in this era that the communal spirit towards development had been thrown into the marines.


   He gave assurance that,he would continue to work assiduously with his cohorts so that the information deduced from the event could be implemented to the benefits of the community development.
