26 COMMUNITIES LACKS PORTABLE WATER _DCE SEKYERE CENTRAL

The DCE for the Sekyere Central District Hon Kwadwo Banahene Badiako has made a clarion call to the cooperate organisations, philanthropists and NGOs to run to their aid so that they could tackle the challenge bedeviling the rural folks in the area

He opined that, about 26 communities in the area are teething for a portable water  for their daily livelihood.

This he said has posed a challenge to his  administration as to how they could resolved the demands of the people since the available resources is not weightier enough to cater for the needs of all the 157 communities in the district despite their incursions hence his plea.

He interacted with Omono TV when the Ashanti Development an NGO were commissioning a mechanised borehole for JANSA community.

The Country Director for the Ashanti Development the NGO Mr Nicholas Aboagye Peprah also asserted that, they observed the water challenged in the community therefore decided to provide them a mechanised borehole at cost of ghc35000 on free count.

Beside the above benevolence of the organisation, they have been providing scholarships to poor but brilliant students, loans to farmers, construction of school blocks  as well as health facilities and many others to their catchment area  to improve the living standards of the people.
