ASHANTI DEVELOPMENT HAS CONSTRUCTED MBU FOR THE MAMPONG GOV'T HOSPITAL AT COST OF GHC9MILLION

 The Ashanti Development an NGO based in U.K  which was founded by a Ghanaian Rev Martha Boadu and Madam Penny David a British as a cofounded had brought sigh of relief to many residents in the Sekyere enclave with their social intervention policies.


 Their benevolence seems to be infinite as they had constructed an ultra morden Mother's and Babies Care Unit at the cost of Ghc 9million for the maternal wing of the Asante Mampong Govt Hospital.


 Speaking to the Media, Madam Penny David disclosed that, she once visited the Asante Mampong hospital and chance up on a malnourished baby and that indeed jerked her knees. 


Her after thought brought fore the initiative of putting up a modern MBU for the hospital to help curb malnourisism among babies in the area.

 Penny David said the center was established to help improve maternal and newborn health in Mampong and nearby districts 

 Ashanti Development plan is to make Mampong maternity hospital a center of excellence. In this regards we will continue to improve and upgrade the infrastructure and equipment in the hospital


Hon Thomas Appiah Kubi the MCE for Mampong eulogised the NGO for their relentless and complimentary support towards the  infrastructural development in the Municipality. 



   He continued that, government cannot be jack of all trade when it comes to the National development therefore they would rally behind any organisation that would Foster growth in the area. 


Mr Nicholas Aboagye Peprah the Country Director for the Asante Development unveiled that, the facility has been furnished with 7 incubators and other related logistics which would in diverse ways aid the health practioners to go extra mile with their service. 


He opined that, the facility would serve more than 10 districts and they are yearning to extend their arms to the hospitals that are handicapped .


    Mr Felix Archer the Mampong Govt Hospital administrator also made a clarion call to the Ministry of health to deploy more health practioners with requisites experience to man the unit and other medical departments of the hospital. 


According to him, paediatricians,surgeons and other medical professionals are urgently needed to handle some vacant positions at the hospital. 




Rev Martha Boadu the Founder of the Ashanti Development called on the facility users to embarked on routine checks along with maintenance culture to ensure its sustainability.
